![]() Lately, Wes Anderson seems to have shifted his creative focus from traditional storytelling to exploring the intricacies of meta-narratives I. I don't need to be consistently reminded that I'm watching a film the power of cinema lies in its ability to make one forget. Rather than being an engaging film, it is a visual portrayal of a stage play, complete with fictional actors who play the role of fictional actors who, in their repeated denial of my immersion into their world, shattered the allure of cinematic magic. Undeniably imbued with the signature Wes Anderson charm, Asteroid City offers the comfort of a classic tale, only to be thwarted by a pretentious and overly ambitious meta-epilogue that persistently disrupts the narrative flow, diluting what could have been an enthralling cinematic experience. Much like the trailer of The French Dispatch, Asteroid City' trailer also fell short, perhaps even deliberately so, in accurately depicting the story.
